RESEARCH

To think of storyboard ideas for our main project, I have researched into more openings.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS
I looked at this opening sequence as, while it is simply shot, it is very effective. Throughout most of the sequence, there are no actors on screen at all, nor any dialouge. The dark atmosphere of the scene is established entirely by the fact that the scene is shot at night, and also by the soundtrack playing throughout the opening.

This opening has hugely inspired the first draft of my first storyboard plan.

Make sure that you meet as a group – come and find me if you need to discuss anything, or need a room/computers to work on before Fridays lesson. You must be prepared to film by the end of the week, this will mean having a script & storyboard – if you want to film before, or need to use the drama studio, make sure you come and talk to me!

Images From Thrillers

RESEARCH

We've decided to collect several classic images from films of the thriller genre. This is just to show you what inspired us to make our piece.

SAW

The reason we chose this picture from the well known thriller "Saw" is because we think it brings out the true essence of thriller.

PSYCHO

Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" is a bench mark of the thriller genre and has ahceived a cult status among movie critics. This image precedes one of the most iconic films moments when vera miles is brutally stabbed in her shower.

BATTLE ROYALE

This is an image from the Japanese thriller "Battle Royale." The photo contrasts gender stereo types in films as the female character, Mitsuko, proves to be one of the most lethal characters in the film.

FIGHT CLUB

This picture from the movie "Fight Club" represents the character's self denial as he continues to obsess over his mid-life crisis.
